Weekly Prayer; making firm the steps of the one who delights in You

Father, thank you for reminding me that I am not alone in my suffering. The war that wages within me to do good is not for me to fight and bear alone.

Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Praise be to the One who can allow me discernment between what is a soulish (unholy) thought/action verses a spiritual (holy) one. I want to live a life of holiness, Lord. A life pleasing to You because You are holy.

Make me clean. Do not let the words that come out of my heart defile me, but rather bring glory to You.

As I draw near to You, draw near to me. Purify my heart O’ God. Hear the plea of your servant’s cry. True worship is obedience. A life, holy and pleasing to You. A life set apart.

The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he may stumble (which I do, Lord), he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. ( Psalm 37:23-24)

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their stronghold in time of trouble. The Lord helps them and delivers them; He delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in Him. (Psalm 37: 39-40)

I take refuge in You, Lord. I delight in You. I may stumble as the war wages within, but You uphold me with Your hand. You do not let me fall. You are my stronghold in times of trouble. You deliver me as You are my deliverer.

Praise be to You O’ God forever and ever.

Despite my imperfections, and what may appear to the eye as failures, You say I am Yours. My hope is in YOU.

In moments of my weakness, You remind me that You are strong. I choose You. I will fight through the soulish desires and choose You. As what others call failures, I will call reminders as they remind me who I am in need of. They remind me Who are, who You say I am, as well as the recollection of Your love for me as You so graciously supply me with the grace of Your forgiveness and Your hand to pull me through so I can win the fight within and bear much fruit for Your glory.

Praise to You, for goodness does not dwell in me, but in You alone.

In the Only one worthy to be praised, YESHUA, Amen!
