The Author of My Life, Me, and Women in Waiting

Hello, my name is Samantha, and I choose daily to become a more fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ. I’ve been aware of God my whole life and have never really questioned Jesus’ existence, but I was a seat warmer…or a Sunday morning only Christian. I believed and had so called ‘faith’, but had no action to back it up or love in my heart to show for it. That is until everything changed in 2009. That was the year we, my husband and I, had our oldest son and decided, “what can we DO rather then GET from our church?” We bagan serving in children’s ministry, which continued while we had babies two, three, and four. Since then, more doors have opened as we continue to say yes to the invitations set before us. We look back and see SUCH transformation. I get to see action and love to back up my faith and belief. However, out all the transformation up to this point, February 26, 2015, is particularly special for me. It was the day after my complete surrendering to His will and His ways. It is the day I chose to trade my dreams for me in, for His dreams for me…which I find is WAY more fulfilling and exciting. He is Almighty, the Alpha and Omega, Beginning and the End, but more intimately, He is my Father, Protector…and the Author of my life.

My story, like everyone, involves rejection, denial, pain, need for control, compulsiveness, unforgivness, addictions, anger, and a co-dependancy on the seen rather then the unseen. However, little by little, I keep seeking and knocking and asking…while saying yes to His invitations, no matter the outcome…and am able to develop the tools neccessary to kick some enemy and me booty as well as receive the gifts of grace, courage, love, and acceptance. Now this does not mean I don’t have pain, trials, or unexpected outcomes, but rather a knowledge of the power at work on my behalf to accept ALL things, bad and good, as a way to grow and be encouraged. They are a pathway to peace. I consider my trials PURE joy, as they bring perseverance and maturity (James 1:2-3)…YAY!!!!

Three months after this choice (in May of 2015) I was on my knees in prayer for a purpose, and within a week I got one. I was preparing for one of my Bible studies and the name Women in Waiting came to me. I looked the definition up, and thought, “WOW! I like it!” It means, by definition based on wikipedia.org, a female personal assistant at a court, royal or feudal, attending on a queen, princess, or high-ranking noblewoman. This is so exciting to me because Jesus is coming back for His bride, and as King, the bride is His Queen. Therefore, as personal assistants, women in waiting, are women building up, serving, encouraging, and helping His bride until His return…oh hallelujah!!!! That is so exciting to me!

So, my prayer for this blog, for this name, and my life…is that women will be empower, equipped, and built up to live a life unashamed of the gospel as many have been called to become appointed by God to serve. It is His will, His ways, always!!!! Amen!

Much love for your life,

Me 🙂

Part of my joy in my journey with Christ is the privilege of seeing His wonderous handiwork in His children. We are wonderfully and fearfully made from the beginning. That in itself is a wonder and a joyful present, but there is another joy in beholding the new creation that He is making and molding by His Spirit daily in us. We are being conformed to His image. Amazing.
Our transparency in our daily lives and being transparent in the dispensing of His gifts to us, allows Him to shine through us. Thank you for sharing His gift in you.

    • Thank you Mrs. Debbie! What encouraging words. 🙂 I am beyond grateful for the transformation that takes place constantly. God is good ALL the time. Oh how I praise Him for His faithfulness. I never would have thought myself to write, but I have come to REALLY enjoy it. Especially when it comes to giving Him all the glory through my daily testimony. Oh, I have so much appreciation for your life. I love you my sister! Thank you again for your words.

      • You are so welcome, Samantha. Thank you for serving Him. We give our witness of Him and then the hungry hear Him themselves. John 4:29,39,and 41
John 4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
        Many blessings to you.
