BRAVE to BLOOM

Our alarm clock sounds…our eyes open. We wipe the sleepy out of our eyes as we lay there with a whole new day unwritten before us. At that very moment, as we become more and more cognitive of the day ahead, we are faced with a choice. Will we receive what God has for us, or will we try with every ounce of ourselves to take control?

Everyday life, so called, ‘happens’ to us as we are making plans. Our days become FILLED with unpredictable outcomes, and if you are like me, you are not all too fond of unpredictable outcomes. I want what I want, to happen the way I want, and how I want it. If one thing goes wrong, or one thing does not get done….well, let the negativity begin.

Do you grapple with this? Do you grapple with staying positive in a world that seems to have so many endless demands with so many uncontrollable outcomes? Do you struggle with surrendering your need for control?

As you reflect, realize that days, more times than not, WILL inevitably be filled with did NOTs we couldn’t get to. However, if we choose to be consumed by the unrealistic expectations we place on ourselves, we in turn, become slaves to self…self-ambition, self-motivation, self-satisfaction, etc. Furthermore, in the midst of all the unavoidable we did NOTs, and as slaves to self…we are quick to use these as the basis for rating our self-worth. We become so caught up in the success or fail of our performance that we cannot even see how consumed by self we actually are.

Before the days even end, we are quick to compare our lives to someone we don’t even know. The young lady at the grocery store, the super model on the television, the knock out beauty walking across the street, the list could go on and on and on and on. We are prone to look critically at ourselves in the mirror, cry because we are overwhelmed, get super angry because it is not going our way, or constantly think of ways to improve our appearance, house, and/or careers because we are unable to control “the world around me”, that we so exhaustively strive to control. It is a never ending cycle of INSANITY.

However, may I propose that God is calling us to something much more, with a much greater fulfilling purpose? Days FULL of He DIDs so there becomes less and less days filled with the discouraging I did NOTs. How? Well, I am purposing that God is calling us to be BRAVE to BLOOM. He is calling us to be

B-bold in our faith

R-relentless in never giving up

A-admitting our need for Him

V-victorious over our carnal selves and selfish desires

E-encouraged by His word and others on this journey with us

He is calling us to CHOOSE to be BRAVE so we can, in turn,….

B-beautiful from the inside so it radiates on the outside

L-loving; as it should be the driving force for behind our actions

O-obedient as we learn how to distinguish His voice over others

O-overcomers of the trials we cannot escape in this world

M-merciful towards others so we can build each other up

He is calling us to be BRAVE to BLOOM!

Lamentations 3:22-24 says…22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him.”

So ladies…..what are you going to choose? His mercies are brand new EVERY morning. They are unique and available to us EVERYDAY. Will we choose to surrender to HIS WILL so He can produce HE DIDs? Or, will you choose to stay wound up within the insanity cycle of control and wind up with several I did NOTs?

Be BRAVE to BLOOM…you were made for it!!!!!!

So much love for your life,

Me 🙂
